The Good, The Bad and The Useful

I have found that as humans we always want to tags things. We live with brains in a physical, structural world. As soon as we assign a tag to a person or a thing or an experience, we put them in a box. Once we put something in box, it becomes less than it once was. In information theory, you could say that we lost information.

For example, imagine classifying a person only by their occupation. Is the person who paints houses for a living, only a house painter when he is at home with his family? Or when he is taking his daughter to the amusement park? The painter may also be a father, brother, husband… He may watch NASCAR, he may write poetry… But this painter is totally unique in who he is. The tags I am using do not capture the totally of his life.

The same can be said for sex, race, ethnic background, belief system, sexual orientation… Think about how you tag people.

We also tag experiences. Tagging spiritual experiences can make them much less than they originally were. For example, telling someone, “I had a Out of Body Experience where I visited the Grand Canyon” does not completely capture all the data that you can gather with an OBE”. Don’t tag things, just experience them.

But for those who are not yet skilled enough to remove tags altogether, I suggest making the following change:

Two commonly used tags are good and bad. I propose that until we can evolve to a high enough level to avoid tagging all together, that we throw out the tags good and bad and replace them with the tags useful and not useful. Somethings that our brains would classify as bad are actually useful. Most people would classify pain as bad, but using the useful or not useful as the criteria, I would classify pain as useful. It signifies that you need to make a change.

This planet is an energy consciousness we often call Gaia that has a certain vibration. We often call this vibration DO as the lowest note in the musical scale Do Rey Me Fa So La… The DO vibration of the planet pulls us back down from being spiritual to being part of the machinery of this planet. It is the this vibration we are trying to separate from so we can reach higher levels.

Some people call this pull of the DO vibration bad because it takes them out of the spiritual state of mind that they want to be in. I call the DO useful because it makes us strong. Learning to resist it’s effect, makes us powerful.
