Dream Connections

I had a new dream experience this week. I dreamed I “saw” a friend of mine. This friend and I have first met a Higher Balance retreat in Portland, Oregon almost two years ago. At our first meeting, we talked about lots of spiritual topics; awakening, finding God, using the sixth sense, etc. I was instantly drawn him; like we had known each other in a past life. Since then we have had a on and off psychic connection. And my friend has also played a role in my own work on ego and identifying when I am affected by the emotions of others.

I dreamed I was looking for someone to go mountain biking with me and I walked into a room in my house and “saw” my friend. The scene played out a little differently in my head. It’s like I felt the presence of my friend and then my brain projected the image of the way he appeared last time we met. Before I had a chance to talk I got this psychic blast from him. It contained a lot of data but I was really only able to catch the emotional tones. It was similar to the feeling of “oh great, not another person, I just finished with one person.” Along with that was the feelings of anger, frustration, feeling overwhelmed, and “I can’t do this right now.”

So I slowly retreated and closed the door in my dream. As soon as I woke up, I wrote down as much as I could remember in my journal. I had a feeling that consciousness of my friend had connected with my consciousness during my dream state and I didn’t want to forget. The story didn’t become that interesting until I emailed my friend and asked if he had any interesting dreams lately.

My friend and I have connected during dreams before. But in the past he had remembered the dreams and I had not. Since then I have connected with three other people and I have learned information that I otherwise would not have known. So I now know these connections are possible.

It turns out that someone who knows us both was chatting with my friend right before he went home from work and he asked about my friend about connecting with me during dreams. He asked how is this possible. My friend said that he can pinpoint the time where this question set his mind in motion and unlocked the door for me. My friend also said that I pretty much exactly summed up how he had been feeling and that he had been working late that night on remotely healing someone and that took a lot of energy from him.

I am beginning to think that the important part of dreams is the feelings and information, not the objects or people we think we see. I believe the objects and people are “projections” that our brain put over the tops of what is really going on.

Dreams serve two purposes that I am aware of. One is helping us deal with issues in our lives. But more importantly, dreams are the mechanism that Gaia, the planetary consciousness, uses to collect our daily experiences. Our sense organs send information through our nerves to our brain so we can experience the world around us. Every night when we dream we send our experiences to Gaia so Gaia can experience the world. You could say people are the sense organs for the planet. We provide the input that causes Gaia to learn, to grow, to evolve.

Thank you for this lovely site and I’m especially grateful that you are writing about the importance of dreams. They are always so full of information about ourselves, our emotions especially, not to mention the assimilation of understanding that is being imparted to those of us who are actively on the HB path. I can’t stress enough how much can be gained by journaling and just thinking about the detail of what appears to be just an ordinary mundane dream. Not so! I’ve spent years contemplating one or two dreams that have made an impression on me in this life – and still to this day new knowledge about myself and the reality of the experience is revealed.

    Love,
    AnaMaria

Dreams are a succession of images, thoughts, sounds, or emotions passing through the mind during sleep.[1] The content and purpose of dreams are not fully understood, though they have been a topic of speculation and interest throughout recorded history. The scientific study of dreams is known as oneirology.
