July 12, 2007. Higher Balance had just opened their cabin near Mt. Hood for week long spiritual training retreats. My wife and I elected to attend retreats different weeks so we didn’t have to leave our daughter with someone. She got to go first.
While my wife was there, she called me during the week and told me that Eric was coming to the cabin that night. She said they were going to do a group meditation. After putting our daughter to bed, I decided to try to tune in.
First I turned down the lights in my living room. Then I sat on my couch, half-lotus style and followed the same steps I follow during a meditation, but without the music; deep breaths to blow out stress, think about my body, envision the prana in the room. Finally I was ready to start.
I hadn’t been to the HBI cabin yet, so I had to use my wife’s frequency to locate it. While in non-thought, I invoked the feeling of my wife in my chest center and had the intention to find her. I was relatively quickly able to tune into my wife and shortly I began to recognize the frequencies of many of the other people present. Then I turned my focus to taking in the feeling of the cabin and what was going on. I was able to tune in for about 25 minutes. It felt like I was gathering information like attending a class but without being able to hear any words and without being able to vocalize what exactly I had learned.
It turned out that Eric was teaching a class at the cabin that became “Eyes Wide Shut”. Here is the description from the HBI website:

It was an interesting experience, but what took it to the next level was the validation I later recieved. When my wife got home, she later told me that one of the coaches looked over at her on the couch during the class and it looked like I saw sitting next to her. That surprised me but not as much as when I got the DVD. On Disc 3 while answering a question about astral travel, Eric says,
“It would take probablyy an hour to break it all down. We’ll do it. It’s just… I’m sure Steve will yell at me to get it done sooner or later, so… anyhow (laugh). He ought to be happy now. He wanted me to do a whole thing on “feels like”. Now he got it. We were planning on doing it now. And right on cue he knows what we’re up to, he’s tunning in.
That was phenominal validation of my experience, to have it recorded on DVD from Eric in his own words.
